Thank you.

Katrina and I are thankful for all the cards, calls, and emails we received. There were cards on our door from neighbors we didn't know but they knew Wally. Because of Wally's size and gentle disposition more people knew who Wally was than who knew who we were. It's nice that there are so many thoughtful people.Thank you.

Wally, You Will Always Be Remembered

I write this in tears as Wally, our wonderful companion of 9 years passed away on Monday.
Katrina and I are extremely saddened with his passing. He meant everything to us. Wally was our 9 year old English Mastiff. Wally had a wonderful life. He was showing his age but he was not uncomfortable. We thought we had several more months with him but the end came quickly. Monday morning he just couldn't get up. He knew and we knew. We sat with him petting him all day until the vet arrived. He was not in pain and we had time to say goodbye. It was very peaceful and the vet was very compassionate. He didn't suffer at all. We have no doubt we did the right thing for him.

We thanked him for his unconditional love. He was very loved and he knew it! We couldn't have asked for a better companion. His passing leaves a big hole in our lives. He was a big dog and had an even bigger presence. He was always there!

Thank you Wally for all the love you showed us over the years. You are most certainty missed beyond what words can say. You will always be in our heart and we will always remember you.

Cave Ridge

Bob and I did a hike to Cave Ridge yesterday. We parked on the west end of the PCT parking lot and took a small path up into the woods. We followed this path to a stream. We crossed and went left and up to the base of Guy peak. We followed it to the saddle and to a right up to Cave ridge.
In all the hiking I have done Cave Ridge has rock formations that I haven't seen anywhere else. The views of Red mountain were very nice. We saw three caves. We only had the cojones to enter one of the caves. The other caves went straight down and without ropes we wernt going in. The one we did go in was very nice.

There were only a few patches of snow left unlike a month before when there was 10 feet. On the way down I tried to get Bob to make a side trip up to Guy Peak but he declined. It was a very nice hike and Bob was thrilled.

Feeds and Kayak Polo

Well I think I have an understanding of Feeds and blogs. Enough to get by anyways. You should be able to subscribe to this blog now.

We had a good game of Kayak polo last night. It was great being on the water with air temps nearing 100. We had a fun time an no one got hurt. At the end of the game we had a lot of fun trying to stand on our kayaks. Its not that easy.

We have extra boats for anyone wanting to give it a try. 5:45 Wednesday nights in Kirkland.

First Post as a Blog

This is my first post as a blog. I have kept a website for many years now but keeping it updated was a pain.

I don't know much about blogging yet.

What software do I need to use to create one?
Can it all be done online like I am doing now at blogger/blogspot?
How can I merge my website with my blog?
How can I keep all the content of my blog if I want to move it to somewhere other than Blogspot?
How do I get the little RSS Feed Icon to show up so others can subscribe to it?
